EMERGING: A Young Choreographers’ Showcase

Experience 'EMERGING: A Young Choreographers’ Showcase,' featuring eight original works by CDT company members. A platform for Jamaica's next generation of choreographic talent, this event is an investment in creative development and a must-see for dance enthusiasts. One night only!

Eight choreographers. Eight original works. One platform for the next generation of Jamaican choreographic voices. One night only. 'EMERGING' will feature eight original choreographic works created by eight members of the CDT company, providing each choreographer with the opportunity to develop, produce, and present an original work before an audience of artists, directors, friends, family, and members of the wider Jamaican artistic community. The Young Choreographers Showcase is designed to give our dancers the opportunity to experience that creative journey—from selecting music and exploring a concept, to developing movement phrases, selecting and ultimately presenting the finished piece to an audience. This is not simply a performance; it is an investment in the creative development of emerging Jamaican choreographers, fostering the future of dance in Jamaica.
